What Does Your Soul Look Like?

Superhero Report:  Soul is the uniquely creative way in which each of us has been gifted to find meaning, purpose and connection in our life.  Engaging our Soul leads us toward a great feeling of expansiveness along with inner feelings of contentment and joy.  When using the gifts of our Soul, we experience fulfillment, especially when our gifts are used in service to the betterment of the world.  During this week’s gatherings of the Superhero Academy, we participated in a shamanic meditative practice with the purpose of discovering the answer to this question:  “What does my Soul look like?”

Please note, after January 1, 2015, the Superhero Report, Authentic Freedom Virtual Church Service and Agape Meditation Newsletter will be available by subscription only.  For a very reasonable monthly fee, (about the price of your weekly cappuccino) you can receive all three.  Subscribe HERE or use the Paypal link to the right:

Here Be Dragons

Getting a glimpse of our Soul offers us clues as to the gifts and the power of our Soul.  The vision of the Soul is unique to each individual.  For some, it might be a Dragon, a Unicorn or a Mermaid; for others an Angelic Being, for others a flower or an insect, and for others orbs and shapes of light.  The individual vision of our Soul tells us a great deal about ourselves, our truest nature, and our purpose in this world.  Dragons, for example, represent strength, courage, the ability to fly implying the ability to transcend obstacles and to see from a higher and wider perspective.  Dragons possess the ability to facilitate transformation through their fire breathing capabilities.  Dragons also have a presence about them – perhaps intimidating at first, but ultimately gentle and kind.  The color of one’s Dragon is also significant, along with their habitat.  Some Dragons are red, others green, black or blue.  Some live in caves, others in water – fresh or salt, some live high up in the mountains.  All of these are significant symbols for what our gifts are and how we are called to share them in the world.

The Care and Feeding of Dragons

Once we have had a glimpse of our Soul, there are two practices that are helpful in utilizing and making the most out of our Soul’s power.  Our Soul’s power is here at our disposal so as to make our Soul fully manifest in our life so that we, and the world, may benefit from its gifts.  In order to be fully born into the world, our Soul needs care.  The first thing the Soul needs is to be nurtured, nourished and supported.  We can ask our Soul what it needs to feel nourished and supported.  My Soul, for example, needs healthy food (appropriate for my dosha), adequate sleep, regular exercise, hydration, lots of alone time interspersed with time with loved ones and friends.  My Soul also needs to be inspired creatively – reading, movies, museums, plays, art galleries and opportunities to be creative – not for work, but simply for the sake of creating.  My Soul also needs coffee….lots of coffee and to be surrounded by the color red.  🙂  The second thing the Soul needs is love.  By sending our Soul love, holding it in love, surrounding it with love (I use Reiki), it begins to feel safe.  Once our Soul feels loved and it feels safe, it will be inspired to step more fully into our life and will use its power to support us in return.  This is a REAL energy exchange and we soon discover that what we give to the Soul comes back to us one hundred fold.

Now tell me, what does your Soul look like?

The Time is NOW!

If the flood of tears that has been coursing through my body this week (and the bodies of other sensitives I know) are any indication…..the world is on the brink of ENORMOUS change!  ENORMOUS change that I cannot even begin to describe and even if I had words for it, I don’t think they would do the change justice.  What I feel is a palpable, tangible, almost touchable mass, just outside our reach, but moving closer….or should I say it is just below the surface ready to EXPLODE!??  When I approach this mass, all I feel is a profound and overwhelming feeling of love….a love that is so big it is almost difficult to be near it….and maybe this is the cause for the tears.  What human can be in the presence of this kind of love?  Every kind of human – that’s who – when we allow ourselves to be freed and released of our own sense of unworthiness and the fears that arise out of this unworthiness.  Getting worthy is what the change is asking us to do….and the time for getting worthy is NOW!

Getting Worthy

Getting worthy is not about appeasing some sort of angry, fickle, judgmental God.  No, getting worthy is about REMEMBERING the love that we already are and the love that we NEVER stopped being.  We are love…..always have been.  We just forgot.  And it is this forgetting that is the cause of the fear and suffering of the human condition.  And we are TIRED.  Tired of living in FEAR.  And the rest of the world is TIRED too!  This is where we come in.  Many of us (probably all who are reading this blog) have been doing the long, slow, sometimes treacherous work of UNRAVELING from fear….of remembering the love that we are and the love we always have been.  As we have been unraveling and remembering, we have been healed and transformed.  Transformed for what??????  To help make the world anew.  And the great news is that the world is finally ready for us.  Critical mass has been accomplished (think….”hundredth monkey”).  The world is TIRED of living in fear and is LONGING for a world that is rooted in something other than fear, manipulation and control.  The world is longing to feel worthy as we have allowed ourselves to feel worthy.

Here’s How it Works

The change starts with us – taking responsibility for our own woundedness, anxieties, insecurities, compulsions, and fears.  Then, doing the work of healing and transforming these fears, etc. through mindfulness practices, prayer, creativity practices, healing protocols, etc.   Then….as we grow in our knowledge of the love that we are….that love ripples out into the world through us….waking people up and healing and changing the world.  The world is changed simply by our PRESENCE.  When we are love, others remember the love they are and either stay and grow in the knowledge of their own love….or they run away in fear.  And as we REMEMBER the love we are, we no longer take their running away as personal…..we allow them their fear and trust they will eventually find their way home.  It really is this simple.  We change…..and the world changes with us.

Really Good News for the Superheroes

And here is the really good news……the work that we have been doing is itself transforming.  What used to feel like WORK and used to be a struggle…..is suddenly becoming EASY.  Easy meaning WITH EASE.  The struggle is OVER.  No more is the work about fighting, or working hard, or making it happen, or striving, or pursuing, or accomplishing, or cajoling, or sacrifice, or suffering, or martyrdom, or PAIN, or AGONY.  Instead….it is about ease.  As Isaiah once said, “every mountain and hill shall be made low,” and they have been.  The tough work is over….the rest is to simply continue…continue remembering love and turning away from fear so that the world itself can be remembered into the love that it always has been and was intended to be.

The time is now…..to turn our own world from fear into love and in doing so, watching the rest of the world change with us!

The Fear of Rejection – Superhero Report

Superhero Report for the Week of October 26, 2014

At this week’s Superhero Academy gatherings (Monday 6:30 – 8:30 and Tuesday 9-11 am), we discussed rejection – specifically, the fear of. In everyday life, and especially in claiming and engaging our Superhero gifts, we experience rejection.  In claiming our Superpowers, cultivating, and sharing them, we serve as a reflection to the rest of humanity of their unrealized potential.  This reflection serves to poke at their unrealized parts, which then initiates one of two reactions – the desire to stay and learn or the compulsion to run like hell. Second perhaps only to death, we fear our greatness.  Only the courageous and persistent and those willing to let go of the life they have known are able to realize their Superhero potential.  And when we do, it often ticks people off.  It is this fear of rejection that most often stands in the way of our ability to claim, cultivate and share our Superpowers. As a result, dealing with the fear of rejection is one of the final frontiers in the journey toward being a Superhero.

The fear of rejection ultimately arises out of the parts of ourselves that have forgotten we are love. In Authentic Freedom, I offer a formal process through which one is able to heal these areas of forgetfulness, returning us to our original wholeness.  I recently discovered there is a shortcut.  This shortcut is Ho-oponopono – the Hawaiian ritual of forgiveness.  At this week’s Superhero Academy, we learned and put this ritual in practice, specifically as a way of tending toward those places within us where we are resistant to our Superpowers.  Specifically related to the claiming and sharing of our Divine call and the use of our Superpowers (spiritual gifts), here is how it works:

  • Close your eyes and sit or rest in silence.
  • Bring to mind a gift, an invitation, a call that has revealed itself to you – perhaps it’s an idea or a dream you have always wanted to pursue but haven’t yet.
  • As you think about this gift, etc. become aware of any areas of constriction that arise in your body – feelings of tightness, tension.
  • Be aware of any emotions, thoughts, images that arise, or the voice of doubt, condemnation, judgment telling you all the reasons you should not or cannot pursue this dream.
  • Recognize that voice of resistance, doubt, etc. as a part of yourself that has forgotten it is love.
  • Silently or aloud, say/pray to that part of yourself the Ho’oponopono prayer formula:

I’m sorry.

Please forgive me.

I love you.

Thank you.

  • Continue this prayer until you feel the resistance in you change, relax or release.

In short, the Ho’oponopono prayer recognizes that we are doing harm to ourselves when we deny our Soul its call, its purpose. As such, saying I’m sorry, etc. is our highest self offering unconditional love and healing to the part of us that is afraid and feeling unloved.

In the coming week, try this formula in every situation where you feel resistant to your dreams and see what happens!
