A Temple Not Built by Human Hands

For thousands of years, human beings have been building temples to their gods. From the humble beginnings of forest shrines, to the temples of the East, to the gargantuan medieval cathedrals and in more modern time, the mega-church complexes, human beings have designed and built external structures to house, to reflect, and to give worship to their gods.  In many belief systems the believers were required to offer sacrifice and worship within the walls of these temples so as to earn the favor of their god.  For some, neglect of these obligations is met with threats of eternal damnation.

These temples were built to represent an external god. God was either thought to be in the temple – either contained within its walls, within its tabernacle; or at the very least, it was only in the temple where god could be met.  The walls of the temple were meant to keep gods in and non-believers out.  Some belief systems have even created rules where those who don’t believe, or those within the faith who aren’t considered worthy because they have not completed the prescribed atonement rituals or sacrifice are not truly welcome.  Keeping gods in and the undeserving out.  All of this rooted in the belief that as human beings, we are separate from God.

Jesus taught otherwise. Raised Jewish, Jesus learned and followed the prescriptions of his faith.  He listened to the stories of his ancestors.  He studied the words of the prophets.  He memorized and followed the law.  He was a good Jewish boy doing what good Jewish boys do.  But, as the stories seem to imply, Jesus heard and experienced something beyond the surface layers of his Jewish faith.  He did not simply attend synagogue on Saturday to fulfill his Sabbath obligation.  It is likely that somewhere in his journey with his Jewish faith, he came upon the more mystical studies of his tradition.  Here he discovered a God that was not only in the temple.  He found a God that was not in a heaven light years away.  Likely through contemplation, meditation and prayer, and through the guidance of others who had come this way before him, he found a God who was not “out there” but dwelt deep within Jesus’ own being in a state he called “Oneness.”  Jesus discovered that the kingdom of God was not out there, but was within him in this state of Union where he experienced peace, contentment and bliss. John the Evangelist later called this experience Love.

For Jesus, the temple became something not outside of himself. Rather, he came to understand that he was the temple – that we are all the temple.  God is in us and we are the temple of that Divine Spirit.  The mystical traditions of Judaism (the Kabbalah) affirm this.  We know and understand this when we do the work Jesus did of healing ourselves of all that which seems to separate us from God – fears, false perceptions, ego attachments, old wounds, etc.  This is the work Jesus (likely) learned through his own Jewish faith, which he accomplished for himself and when he then went on to (try to) teach his disciples.  Some got it.  Some did not…..

Nothing More To Forgive – from Shadow to Gods

Today’s blog is for those interested in the evolution of human consciousness and where we are in our journey as we mark this full moon in Pisces (August 29, 2015) and the final days of Saturn’s journey through Scorpio as it draws closer and closer to Sagittarius.

For the past two and a half years, as Saturn has been journeying through Scorpio, we have been in a place of DEEP SHADOW work. As the archetypal Lord of The Underworld, Scorpio (associated with Pan, Hades, Gwynn Ap Nudd, Cernunnous) has been leading us through the darkness of our own depths where we have been invited to exhume the corpses of all those things we would rather keep hidden away.

newworld581239_1280

Individually and collectively, we have been forced to look at all those things we have repressed, suppressed, denied, ignored or locked away, hoping we’d never have to look at it again. Every past hurt, wound, betrayal, etc. has resurfaced to haunt us and every fear, compulsion, and rejected aspects of ourselves have risen so as to be seen. The past two and a half years have been reminiscent of the evil queen in Snow White looking into the mirror to see what can be seen. And what we have been shown has not been pretty.

This time of deep reflection and introspection has not been without purpose. As Scorpio has assisted us in bringing all of our darkness to light, it has been done for the sake of healing and transformation. We are being invited to see what remains to be seen so that we can heal it and change it – ONCE and FOR ALL! Saturn in Scorpio (for those who have been willing to do the work) has been a time of grand FORGIVENESS. Forgiving old hurts and past wounds, but most importantly, forgiving ourselves. Every unhealed wound, disappointment, betrayal, etc. stands in the way of us enjoying the FREEDOM that is our Divine inheritance. Every experience, memory, situation that we ignore or suppress keeps us from enjoying the fullness of our unique giftedness. Every part of ourselves we condemn, ignore, reject, imprisons us within fear and keeps us from the life of meaning and fulfillment we were meant to enjoy.

With Saturn in Scorpio, we have learned that forgiving ourselves is the key to freedom and that everything we judge outside of us as having hurt, offended, wounded, condemned us is ultimately a reflection of our own condemnation of ourselves. Scorpio holds us ACCOUNTABLE to no one but ourselves and assures us that it is not us against them, but us against our very selves. When we learn this truth and take responsibility for EVERY negative reaction we have toward “the other” as reflecting an unhealed experience within ourselves, we have learned what Scorpio wanted us to learn, and we, like Saturn are ready to move from Scorpio into Sagittarius. In Sagittarius, we enjoy the rewards of hard-earned wisdom as we settle into a life of authenticity and purpose reflective of our most authentic selves. In the journey through Scorpio, we had an opportunity to understand our excesses and appreciate the values of temperance and simplicity, tested in the fire of deep shadow work. In Sagittarius, we can rest and enjoy the fruits of our labors while allowing our deep inner transformational work to take root, anchoring us in a place of purpose and intent. In other words, after completing our journey through Scorpio, there is nothing more to forgive.

“There is nothing more to forgive.” This is the message I heard in meditation this week while observing my own transit out of Scorpio and moving toward Sagittarius (which will be complete on September 17th….interestingly the day I arrive home from Muse Camp!). In this meditation, I saw the wounded, hurt, judgmental, dualistic version of myself as a shadowy version of me. I saw it standing in its place of perceived separation – where it feels alone, powerless, wounded and afraid. Beside the shadowy aspect of myself, I beheld a brilliant version of myself I have come to call, “The Goddess Queen.” This version of myself is my true self – a radiant, light-filled being attired as a queen, reflecting the power of a goddess. I this version of myself with long, flowing white hair, wearing a sparkling crown of silver and gold bedecked with diamonds and stars. I was wearing a long flowing gown in shades of white, stitched in brocade patterns of silver and gold. The gown was fitted at the bodice with a heart-shaped neckline. On my feet were slippers of sparkling silver and gold. I was the Queen. I was the Goddess. What I realized in seeing this vision is that I AM the Queen. I Am the Goddess. And this is the energy and power of my truest, most authentic self, the one I came to be on this plane.

Then I saw the Queen/Goddess approach the shadowy, wounded part of myself. And rather than reject her or send her away, The Queen/Goddess embraced the shadowy aspect of myself and brought her into herself. As she brought me toward her, she whispered in my ear, “THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO FORGIVE.” Then I saw the part of me that had worked so hard to complete the shadowy work ascend into the heavens as she was welcome by the heavenly host and ushered into her place in heaven where she could be rewarded for her hard work and find rest for all she had accomplished. Then, all that remained was the Goddess/Queen.

I AM the Goddess/Queen, complete with all the lessons I’ve learned, with nothing more to forgive.

And so are you! Your hard-earned journey through the shadows is coming to its own place of completion. You have fought a hard and difficult battle. You have taken responsibility for your own pain, your own fears, your own compulsions, your own projections. And in doing so, you have made yourself ready for the time of your own reign – the reign of the God/Goddess/King/Queen that dwells within you and that which will uphold you in your own unique giftedness and the unique way you are called to be a LEADER of change in our world. Congratulations, you have completed your mission….and there is nothing more to forgive.

Being Hospice to our (3D) selves as We are Dying

In Friday’s blog, I wrote about the new world that is in the process of being born through us. As this new 5D (non-dual) world is being birthed, our 3D (dualistic-minded) selves are in the process of dying. This dying-off process is presenting itself in symptoms similar to those we go through in our literal, physical deaths – physical pain, anxiety, restlessness, anger, sorrow….and a fair bit of bargaining and denial. As I was writing yesterday’s blog and speaking about how to tend to our dying selves, I saw a very clear image that I want to share and a practice I want to elaborate on as I believe it will prove helpful for all of us moving through this transition.

What I saw was an image of my 3D (dualistic, fear-based) self, lying on a hospital bed. The bed was clothed in white and I was wearing a hospital gown. I was lying in the bed, dying. Beside the bed was my 5D (oneness and love-based) self, sitting on the edge of the bed holding my 3D self’s hand. My 5D self was providing comfort and support to my 3D self as it was releasing.

I saw in my mind’s eye all that my 3D self had done to get me to this place in my journey – the journey it had undertaken, the pain it had experienced, the fear it had known, the suffering it had embodied. I saw the lessons she has learned, the joys and the sorrows she had experienced. I saw her as a warrior who had fought a long and difficult battle – the journey she came here to do – to live in the world of duality so that she could have the fullness of the human experience. She came to have the fullness of the human experience for the purpose of transforming the human experience – to usher herself and all of humanity with her through 3D (dualistic) consciousness to a new way of being. I thanked her for a job well done, for completing her journey and to assure her that she has completed her task and that it is now ok to LET GO and surrender her body and spirit to the other world – the Source from which she came.

I saw my 5D (oneness based) self sitting beside my 3D (duality based) self and holding space for her as she lay dying. I held her hand. I comforted her. I prayed with her. I comforted her in her fears (the 3D self fears death). I lay my hands on her in release and thanksgiving. As I held her in this place of loving support, she surrendered. She relaxed into the face of her death. She acknowledged the hard work she had undertaken and felt pride in a job well done. She felt as if she had fully accomplished what she had come here to do and that in this, she could surrender to death and in death, rest in peace. I held my 3D self as she surrendered into the peace of death and I held her as she released her last breath. As she released the final breath from her 3D body, I saw her spirit separate from her body and in its rising, the sky opened up and a brilliant light shone through as a multitude of angels and heavenly beings sang songs of great joy. Jesus and Mary Magdalene came forward, and the heavenly beings parted, revealing between them a gold-paved road that led off into eternity. Jesus and Mary took the hand of my 3D self and led her away from the duality in which she had been living to a place of reunion with her truest self which is not separate, but wholey (holy) and completely one with all that is.

As my 5D self sat in witness to this wonderous event, I felt only peace. I knew that I was not separate from my 3D self, but that in her reunion with all that is, she had become fully integrated within me. She and I are one and will never be separate.

The time of separation has ended for all of us. Our 3D selves have succeeded in their journey of duality so that we could all have the fullness of the human experience. And now that we know what it is like to be fully human, it is time for our Divine Nature step forward to integrate what we have learned as human beings so that we can do what we came here to do – transform the human experience from one of fear into one of love. First, we had to know what it is like to be human. Now it is time to show humanity what it is like to be gods!
