Where is the Love in This?

A mini lesson on judgment (a shout out to my dear friend and spiritual sister Marcy for being the vessel through which this truth was able to emerge):

If we are choosing to live in unity consciousness, all judgment is suspended, as we are invited to ask “where is the love in this?” In unity consciousness, love is in everything. So even in the face of the most horrific (from our place of judgment) actions, love is waiting to be seen so that it may be known. In unity consciousness, we attune our eyes to love. (seeing through the eyes of God).

When we live, instead, from a place of fear and separation, we cannot see the love because we are only seeing through the lens of fear. This is where we judge actions and events as good or bad, right or wrong. When we cast judgment, we reject the opportunity for love.

Ultimately, the choice is ours: to see the world through the lens of separation and fear (judgment) or to be open to the question, “Where is the love in this?” allowing ourselves to see instead, through the eyes of God and to be open to the possibility of love.

Choosing the Life We Want

If these past two weeks in the void (since the Equinox) have been a doozie for you….you are not alone! I know for myself (and many of my colleagues, co-hearts and peers – especially those in the Ascension, 3D, 5D communities) it has been a time of NOTHING. (see more about the VOID in Monday’s post HERE) For me this has manifested as complete lack of motivation or interest in ANYTHING.  Even the things that usually nourish and inspire me (reading, writing, music, movies, nature) have fallen flat.  Speaking of flat – has anyone else been FLATTENED by this time?  EXHAUSTED….needing to sleep….not feeling rested after sleep…even symptoms akin to depression?  Many are also complaining of increased anxiety at this time as we wait for we know not what  (See Aimee Hohn’s post about the anxiety of potentiality!)!

Inadvertently, while wallowing under the heavy weight of the VOID, I may have found the key to finding our way out.  The key – it seems – is CHOOSING WHAT WE WANT.  Last night, ticked off at all the “restrictions” I had placed on myself and the universe seems to have placed on me, I chose something that I wanted instead of what the voices in my head said I “should” choose.  For the first time since entering the void, I had a good night sleep.  I feel rested.  My brain is not filled with sludge.  I feel like myself.  I even have a bit of creative energy back.  (I’m writing this blog, aren’t I?)  Buoyed by this revelation, I sat down and wrote a list of what I want for myself as we move through the void into the new life that is waiting for us – right around the corner (no coincidence that this void to birthing time coincides with EASTER)!  Here is my list… go and write yours!

Soulmate, Twin Flame, True One, Beloved LOVE

Love that sweeps me off my feet, love that is REAL, healthy, interdependent,

Partnership LOVE – mutually honoring, supportive, sacred LOVE.

I want JOY.  Joy and enjoyment.

A life that feels like play because it’s fun and my work is fun.

Work that is joyful, fulfilling and fun so much so that it feels like I’m getting paid to do nothing.

People coming to me in search of my gifts because I’m dang good at what I do and people know it.

I want money – BIG money

Not just for my own enjoyment, but so that I may help others.

Creating a beautiful, fun, and sacred home for myself and my family.

A home that is mine (ours).

To support my children’s education and the education of others.

A cabin in the woods.

Money and time to enjoy and support the arts – theatre, symphony, the ballet, museums – and someone to share it with.

Good health – of course!

I want time for solitude and quiet –

To be with my God

To be with myself

To be with nature

To write

To be with my Beloved

To be with those I love

There’s my list (for now)…….now go write yours!

Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired – Virtual Church Service

The Authentic Freedom Virtual Church Service for Sunday, December 7, 2014 is LIVE.

The theme of this week’s service is “I’m TIRED!  Aren’t you tired?”  Specifically of a world rooted in fear, being controlled by manipulation and power?  I know I am!  The good news is that we have the freedom to CHOOSE what kind of world we live in.  The choice begins with ourselves.  When we choose love instead of fear, our world changes and the world changes with us.

Attend this week’s service HERE.

Choosing Not To Choose

In yesterday’s blog, I wrote about the courage necessary to fully embrace the birth of our Soul – the uniquely creative way in which we have been gifted to find meaning, purpose, connection and fulfillment in our lives and through which we contribute to the betterment of the world.  Midlife and Menopause often usher in the process of birthing our Soul, and the end result is simply a matter of choice.  What happens, however, when either we feel as if we cannot choose something other than what we currently know, or we feel as if choosing the path of our Soul would cause ourselves or others too much pain?  In these scenarios, sometimes the choice is not to choose.

Choosing Not to Choose

One of my all time favorite songs about the Authentic Freedom journey is Freewill, by Rush.  In this song, Geddy Lee addresses the truth that sometimes our choice is not to choose:

“If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”

This decision not to choose is equally available to us in the birth of our Soul.  Some aren’t even aware that they have a choice.  They believe that life is “what it is” and have no conscious thought that life could be any different.  For others, the decision not to choose is made out of a perception that the choice of the Soul is not available to them.  They feel as if they do not have the time, money, support, resources, environment, freedom to choose the path of their Soul.  This is where the Authentic Freedom process provides tools through which one might overcome the perceptions around this choice.  For some, however, the decision not to choose is real because they do not have the freedom (or the civil liberties) to make such a choice, and do not feel called to risk their own lives and the lives of their families for that choice.  For many, the decision not to choose is a completely conscious decision based in the knowledge of the consequences of such a choice.  They know the consequences of the path of their Soul might mean freedom for themselves, but they are also conscious of the impact of their choices on the people around them.  Sometimes we choose not to choose because we do not want to hurt or harm the people around us.

Finding Peace in Deciding Not to Choose

In the Authentic Freedom process and philosophy, we acknowledge that authentic freedom, a life of enduring inner peace, contentment and joy, is independent of the external circumstances of our lives.  As such, we can absolutely choose NOT to choose the path of our Soul and still know peace.   In choosing not to choose, one is not doomed to a life of quiet desperation.  Without proper tools for managing the ever-restless Soul, the outcome might be quiet desperation, and this is where Authentic Freedom, and other approaches, which include mindfulness based practices, come in handy.  Whether we choose the path of our Soul or choose not to decide, we have access to age-old practices which have now been scientifically proven to cultivate and deepen contentment, peace and joy within us.

Lauri Lumby works with people one-on-one and in groups to help them connect with the mindfulness practices that work best for them and to then help them to establish a mindfulness discipline which helps them to cultivate inner peace, contentment and joy.  To schedule your own mentoring session, call (920) 230-1313 or email
