Mother Mary’s Message to Humanity

(as delivered to Lauri Ann Lumby 9/25/16)

maryqueenrosary

My Beloved Children, the time of reckoning is here. For centuries, I have appeared to the innocent and the faithful to deliver a message of peace.  Now is no different than all the other times – to Bernadette at Lourdes, Juan Diego at Guadalupe, and the children at Fatima and Medjugorje. My words are the same.  Your world yearns for peace, it longs for peace, it pines for peace.  And still, there are those who only want fear and who take their power by manipulating you through fear.

This is the energy of what has been called “Satan” or the “Anti-Christ,” yet it resides not outside of you, but dwells within. The fear you see “out there” is merely a reflection of the fear you harbor within yourselves which finds its way out sideways when unacknowledged, untended, unhealed.

After centuries of this fear holding sway, critical mass has been reached, and now it is time for you to choose.

A new world is being born in the midst of the fear that has held sway and this new world is made of love – for those who are willing to make the choice. The choice is yours – love or fear.

The time for reckoning is here. If you think the world is getting worse, more violent, more divisive, more fearful, it is; but not because this is the path of the future or the path of your doom.  Instead, think of it as being in a centrifuge – any and all fears that have not yet been healed are coming up to be healed and released – or not.  It is your choice.

If you’ve been doing this work all along, the work will be “easy.” You will feel the fear, get drawn into it, perhaps even act on it.  Then you will see it for what it is – another fear asking for release.  If you haven’t been doing the work of confronting, transforming and healing your fears, it will feel excruciating, overwhelming and perhaps hopeless. The purpose in this is so that you are sure not to miss it – to give you one more opportunity to take responsibility for your fears and the behaviors they drive, then surrender them to your Divine Self for healing and release.

To those who choose this path of self-love, you will soon find yourself in a new world – a world made of love.

To those who will continue to choose fear, you will remain in the world made of fear until you decide to choose otherwise. The choice is yours.

marydivinemercyNo matter your choice, I am here to remind you that you are loved without condition – in fact, it is of love and for the purpose of love that you were made, and for this you will always have my blessing now and forever.

I am holding you in love.

Your Beloved Mother,

Mary

To support being healed of our fears and to receive the special blessing of Our Blessed Mother, join in proclaiming her prayer:

Hail Mary, full of Grace.

The Source of Love is with and within you.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

Holy Mary, Mother of the All.

Pray for us, now and forever.  Amen.

Honoring the Divine Mother – Virtual Church

In this week’s Authentic Freedom Virtual Church service, we give honor to the Divine Mother.  Mary, set aside her own will in order to accept God’s call for her to be the Mother of Love in the world.  In doing so, Mary provides for us a model of faith, courage and spiritual obedience.  God’s call may not be easy, but the outcome is always far greater than what we could image for ourselves.

Scripture Reading:

Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expiated; indeed, she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins. A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill shall be made low; the rugged land shall be made a plain, the rough country, a broad valley. Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all people shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken. Go up on to a high mountain, Zion, herald of glad tidings; cry out at the top of your voice, Jerusalem, herald of good news! Fear not to cry out and say to the cities of Judah: Here is your God! Here comes with power the Lord GOD, who rules by his strong arm; here is his reward with him, his recompense before him. Like a shepherd he feeds his flock; in his arms he gathers the lambs, carrying them in his bosom, and leading the ewes with care.

Words of Comfort and Relief

Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expiated”

If the tears that began to fall from my eyes in reading this words are any indication……we have all grown tired – tired of the struggles of the human condition. Tired from the conflict, the hatred, the discrimination, the separation and the war. For 10,000 years, we have made conflict with each other and worked tirelessly in destroying the earth for the sake of our own ignorance and greed. We have grown tired in the face of a seemingly hopeless struggle.

But there is good news: The struggle is not hopeless, in fact, the remedy is just around the corner, it resides within you, and the time is NOW.

The time of pain, separation, struggle, poverty, hunger, war is OVER. The time to save the earth from our own efforts to destroy it is NOW. The change is not, however, coming from the top-down as we had hoped. The change will NOT come from those institutions who have a vested interest in raping, pillaging, destroying the earth for their own selfish desires and neither will it come from those content to grow rich and powerful on the backs of the huddling masses. NO, the change will not come from them. Instead, the CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU!

A voice crying out in the wilderness talking only to sand? I think not. I think you hear my words and understand my intent. CHANGE begins with you….in your willingness to do the work of healing your own separation, easing your own anxiety, calming your own fears and turning to the God who loves you for COMFORT. The change begins with you…..What are you waiting for?

What are you waiting for? Change starts with you! How are you taking time out of your day to receive and remember God’s comforting love and experiencing the healing of your own separation, pain and fear?

Spiritual Practices – Balm of Comfort

Slowly and meditatively read the scripture passage above. Go back and read it again, this time imagining it is a love letter from God to you. Read the words as if they are personally addressed to you. Receive these words as a balm of healing comfort, support and love. Allow the words to sink deeply into your being. Rest in the comfort of God’s love. Feel the peace. Feel the love. Imagine yourself being held in God’s loving embrace. Sink deeply into the feeling of being held and comforted.

Rest in silence and return periodically to the reading, allowing it to sink even deeper into you.

Record your thoughts and feelings in your journal or notebook.

Authentic Freedom

Will we ever comprehend how much God loves us? Will we ever REMEMBER the love that we are in God? Will we ever understand and live from this place of love – absent hatred, anxiety, conflict, separation, jealousy, discrimination, wrath, the need for vengeance? On our own, the answer is no. But with God – YES. This is the purpose for which Authentic Freedom was developed – to give us tools to TURN to God for help, healing, comfort – and in doing so, being freed of the false perception of separation that is the cause of the fear, anxiety and conflict of the human condition. Return again and again and again to God. Remember God’s love.

AND BE FREE

And as we are freed, the love that we are ripples out into the world in waves, changing the world from fear into love.

Again, what are we waiting for? The time is NOW! Return to God. Know Love. Be love. Re-create a world of love and for love. Amen!

The Seed of Remembrance – Finding Our Way Home

Today – a parable.  When we made the choice to experience the human condition, the consequence was the perception of separation from our Divine origins, which then resulted in fear, suffering and pain.  Fortunately, our loving Divine parents planted within us the seed of remembrance so that one day, we would find our way home.

HeldinLove

Once upon a time, there were Divine loving parents, Father and Mother. They created a universe filled with their children, made in their own likeness. In the Presence of the Father and the Mother, these children knew nothing but love, happiness and bliss. Then one day, some of the children realized that in order to grow and mature, they would need to know what life would be like without the Presence of the Father and the Mother. So, these children asked their Divine parents for permission to move away from them – to go off by themselves and experience life without the Presence of their Divine Parents. Mother and Father knew exploration would cause their children great anguish, pain and suffering, but also knew that in order to grow, they needed this time of separation, so the Parents agreed. The children then went off on their own to explore the world separated from the Presence of their Divine and loving Parents. Father and Mother, however, did not send the children off completely alone. Instead, they planted within the heart of each of their children the seed of remembrance. Contained within this seed was the memory of their original home as one in love with their Divine Parents, sisters and brothers. Father and Mother hoped that one day, this seed of remembrance would awaken and lead their children home.

The children, then, went off to experience life as separate from their Divine origins. As was anticipated, this experience caused the Divine children much pain and suffering. The children felt as if they were lost, abandoned and alone. For the first time, they experience fear which then led to anger, resentment, jealousy, covetousness, lust for power, insecurity, loneliness and despair. The children of God, out of their fear, began to create separation from each other, making war, destroying the world Father and Mother had given them, condemning others as different and unacceptable. The world they created apart from their Father and Mother became a world of great darkness. As the years went by, the children grew more and more restless and more and more afraid.

All this while, the seed of remembrance rested within the hearts of the Divine children. In all of the Divine children, this seed felt to them like a thorn or a sliver trying to find its way out. This seed created within each of the Divine children, a deep longing – a longing that could not be named, but a longing nonetheless. Many ignored this longing or tried to silence its efforts through self-numbing behaviors – excessive food, drink, accumulation of possessions, power and control over others, etc. Others, heard this longing and punished themselves, falling deeper and deeper in despair. Others, felt this longing and instead of resisting it or succumbing to its darkness, decided to LISTEN. In this listening, the Divine children heard the voice of Father and Mother calling them home.

Show Me the Way to Go Home

Through the metaphorical Adam, the human conditional was born, providing for us the (false) perception of separation and the sensation of having fallen from Grace. In birthing the human condition, we now know fear and suffering in contrast to the love and peace we knew “at home.”  Jesus (among other prophets) discovered the remedy to the human condition and through his teaching and example, shows us the way to go home.

Scripture Reading:

Brothers and sisters: Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through man, the resurrection of the dead came also through man. For just as in Adam all die, so too in Christ shall all be brought to life, but each one in proper order: Christ the firstfruits; then, at his coming, those who belong to Christ; then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has destroyed every sovereignty and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. When everything is subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.

Jesus Shows Us the Way

“Since death came through man,

The resurrection of the dead came also through man.”

When the metaphorical Adam chose power over obedience to God, the human condition was born. Instead of the peace, love and joy experienced in our original state of Oneness with God, humans now knew fear – fear that then led to a whole host of fears and their resulting compulsions. Inside of our beings, in this place of perceived separation from God, we felt as if we had fallen from Grace. As a loving parent, understanding our need to explore and to learn, God allowed us this choice, knowing that in this choice, we would suffer and experience the burden of guilt for turning away from God. God, however, did not leave us abandoned, neither did God leave us to our own devices, instead, God sent prophet after prophet after prophet to help remind us of our original nature and to help us find our way home. The greatest of these prophets (in the Christian tradition), was Jesus. Jesus, in his own longing and search for God, found the remedy to the suffering of the human condition (the remedy didn’t alleviate the suffering, but provided a means to transcend it), and generously shared what he learned with others. Thankfully, some of his disciples remembered bits and pieces of what Jesus taught and others wrote it down. Through scripture, specifically a prayerful reading and reflection on scripture, we find glimpses of what Jesus taught and sparks of what he remembered. What is even more remarkable is that like the gurus before him and since, Jesus’ very spirit is accessible as a teacher and a guide to those who seek out and cultivate a deeply intimate and personal relationship with Jesus as the Christ. In this way, Jesus, himself, becomes our teacher – helping us to see the deeper truths beyond the words of scripture, leading us to other resources including human teachers who can guide us. We even find that Jesus can come to us himself to teach and guide us.

The “sin” of Adam allowed us to experience the human condition. Jesus helps us to find our way home.

How have you cultivated a personal relationship with Jesus?

I Am My Beloved’s

How are we being called to love God and to be loved in return?

Listen! My beloved!
   Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the mountains,
   bounding over the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Look! There he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
   peering through the lattice.
My beloved spoke and said to me,
   “Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, come with me.
 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
   is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.

My beloved is mine and I am his.”

Song of Songs

I’m a Freak

I do not expect anyone to comprehend or understand the way in which I have experienced the love of the Divine.  If I lived in India, I could say that I was a practitioner of Bhakti Yoga.  Indians understand the call to devotional practice, where we accept the invitation to believe that we are  the lover and the Divine our beloved.  In the Western world, if you try to express this, people just look at you crosseyed.  Well, look at me crosseyed if you will….but I love God….passionately, devotedly, overwhelmingly…..more importantly, I know and have experienced God’s love for me….and for all of creation.  I do not wave this around as a flag of my own accomplishment because quite frankly, I can only hold this as the overwhelming, profound, humbling gift that it is.  This experience of Divine love, I consider to be pure Grace – something that we receive not because we deserve it or because we prayed the right way or the appropriate number of times….it is simply gift – undeserved, unbidden, unearned.  Pure, Grace.  Neither can this experience truly be described….it is as if your heart is filled with a warm, bright light and expands beyond thought, beyond reason, beyond the universe and we are able to get a tiny glimpse into the heart of God and what we are able to see is a love beyond all love, beyond all imaginings, beyond any ideas of separation or judgment…certainly beyond any thought of sin or condemnation.  God is love, pure love, nothing less.

But, there is something that makes me sad

This love of God is so far beyond what we can possibly imagine or ever experience in our human condition.  This is the love that Jesus spoke of….Teresa of Avila, Francis of Assisi, John of the Cross, Hildegard of Bingen, Rumi, Hafiz, Rilke, Yogananda, and  all the Indian masters.  So if this love of God is so magnificent…..why are we still talking about punishment, condemnation, sin, judgment, etc. etc. etc.  This makes me so sad.  How can one get across to a fearful world that God loves….PERIOD…..and that this love does not have to be earned, neither can it be taken away.  God loves….God is love…..love is God.  And……not only does God love…..but God wants nothing more for us than to know this love.  This is why I LOVE LOVE LOVE the book from the Hebrew scriptures, Song of Songs.  There is absolutely NOTHING else that expresses the passionate love of God for us and the invitation for us to love God in return with a passion that might even be considered erotic!!!!   In this poem, we are invited to recognize that we are God’s beloved and to accept the invitation to be God’s lover in return.  Scandalous, I know!  😉

Still a Freak

So, I’m still a freak.  I love God and enjoy with a bliss beyond all bliss the way that God loves me….more importantly, the way that God loves all of humanity, all of creation.  I see the love.  I feel the love…..and I know I am the love.  In my world, there is absolutely nothing better than sitting in meditation and feeling this love, giving honor to this love through my yoga practice, observing this love move through me as I share my gifts with others.  And, there is nothing worse than the moments I feel absent of this love….but it is during those moments of perceived absence that I find comfort in knowing, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.”

How have you experienced God’s love in your life?

How are you being invited to perceive and realize this love more fully?

Miracles, Signs and Manifestation

Yesterday I received an unexpected gift from a dear friend – a Girlie from artist, Kelly Rae Roberts http://kellyraeroberts.com/Little did my friend realize the depth of meaning to this gift.  In today’s blog, I explore the truth of miracles, signs and the magic of manifestation.

As most of my readers are aware by now, I am currently going through a divorce.  While this process is mostly amicable, there is of course grief, fear, trepidation and whole lot of having to trust trust trust that the god’s that initiated this process know what the heck they are doing!!!  In the midst of this process, I have had to cling to this trust with every ounce of my being, looking for the signs of where to go and how to proceed, along with the little (and sometimes HUGE) miracles that show up along the way as a form of affirmation and validation that I am indeed on the right path.  Yesterday’s gift showed up as one of those miracles, a sign along the way and evidence that we are indeed vehicles through which the highest good is made real in the world.

As I mentioned in the prelude above, I received a gift yesterday from a dear friend in the form of a Girlie from artist Kelly Rae Roberts.  Now…..I have to tell you the story of why this gift is a miracle and a sign that I am indeed on the right path.  But first, I have to tell you my history with Kelly Rae Roberts.

As some of you know, one of the spiritual practices I have embraced is the art of collage.  When I feel really stuck spiritually, I find that collage helps me to get unstuck.  I have created several pieces and have shown them locally.  One day, my mom sent me a link to an artist that she had discovered who she thought I would like because of her seemless integration of whimsy and collage.  The artist was, Kelly Rae Roberts.  I immediately fell in love with her art and have been coveting her pieces ever since.  While Kelly’s art is extremely reasonably priced, I just never allowed myself the gift of one of her pieces.

But then came the process of divorce.   While this is a process long in its unfolding, the end result will eventually be that I will have my own home to play with and decorate – completely in my own taste (along with the taste of our children).  As I have been dreaming and imagining my new home, Kelly Rae Roberts’ art keeps showing up.  Unfortunately, her online shop has been closed as she awaits the birth of her child.  NOTE:  THE SHOP IS NOW OPEN!!!!!  http://kellyraeroberts.com/ In the days since her shop has re-opened, I have been perusing her virtual shelves for the perfect pieces for my new home.  I knew I wanted to start with the Girlies, but wasn’t sure where I would display them.  Ok….so here is the fun part.  YESTERDAY morning during my yoga meditation, the exact Girlie presented herself and the place that she wanted to call home.  “Listen to your Life” showed herself and told me that she wanted to sit atop my upright piano that will be displayed front and center in the front room of my new home.

So….who should show up yesterday afternoon in the form of an unexpected gift???   YOU GOT IT!!!!  “LISTEN TO YOUR LIFE!”  As I shared my surprise, joy and wonder with my friend, all we could do was stand in awestruck wonder at the miracle that presented itself right before our eyes.  Now here is the real irony, my friend had NO IDEA that I loved Kelly’s art.  In fact, she and I had never discussed my artistic taste.  AND….she did not purchase this piece online….she found it in a giftshop some 60 miles away.  Ok…..all you statisticians out there…..you tell me the odds of this….Getting a Kelly Rae Roberts piece from a friend who had no idea that I liked Kelly’s work let alone that it was the “Listen to your Life” Girlie I had been coveting…and that she should present me with this gift on the afternoon of the very day that the piece showed up in my meditation and told me where she wanted to be displayed.  Come…I dare you!  I’m guessing this is like  a one in a zillion chance.  So….considering the odds…..I officially declare this an honest to God-ness MIRACLE!  MIRACLE MIRACLE MIRACLE!   I do believe in miracles, I do, I do!

So today, I give a heart-felt thanks to my friend who somehow acted as a vessel through which God could offer me validation and assurance of a rightly chosen path.  And I thank Kelly Rae Roberts for being not only a fantastic artist, but a source of inspiration for me as I embark upon the journey of embracing my own artistic life.  This is the other part of the miracle…..as I have been open to this period of transition, I have been longing to more deeply claim my creative self and embrace the life of a writer, author, artist and musician.  Receiving one of Kelly’s Girlies seems like a little nod of affirmation from the Divine and a nudge in that direction.  So, again I thank Kelly for being a source of inspiration and for being a resource for those of us to wish to more fully embrace ALL of our Divine gifts!

And one final thought…..and is this an example of how we, ourselves, can be vehicles through which God’s miracles can be made manifest in our own lives?  Did God send me the Girlie, or did I draw her to myself?????  The world may never know!

Who's got your back? – Blessings from the ancestors!

Today I am mindful of the presence and blessings that we receive from those who have gone before us – ancestors, loved ones, friends who have passed away.  I was reminded of this gift and knew that I was receiving a special blessing yesterday when I had a “coincidental” encounter with 4 children (3 by birth, one by marriage) of a special friend of mine who passed away in 1997.

This special friend was an older gentleman (in his 60’s) who I had come to know through his children.  He was a great man with a John Wayne swagger and a heart the size of Texas.  This is the one person I have known in my life that was truly free of judgement.  He could sit down and have a beer with the local homeless person or the local royalty and both would know they were accepted, listened to and honored for who and what they were.  I developed a special fondness for this man when I found myself unemployed and he generously (along with the help of his sons), created a position for me in their company.  Working for “Papa Bill” was like working with my own father.  There was absolutely no question that whatever the situation, Bill had your back.  I recall a particularly difficult situation with a client that I brought to Bill for counsel.  He immediately picked up the phone, read the client the riot act and told him exactly how he was “to treat my girls.”  From that day forward this formerly difficult client treated me with respect and consideration.  Papa Bill had my back.

Well, yesterday, I acutely felt the presence of Papa Bill as I somehow through coincidence ran into four of his kids.  As each one showed up throughout the course of the day, (mind you, many of these kids I have not seen or heard from in months…and it is not common for me to just run into them on the street)  I was sure I heard Bill reminding me from his eternal resting place that he still had my back.  I offered up a prayer of acknowledgment and gratitude and felt a wave of peace wash over me knowing that Papa Bill was somehow watching out for me and was working some sort of magic that facilitated these connections with his kids.

In the Authentic Freedom process, we are reminded of the truth of Oneness.  Each of us are intimately linked in our connection to the Divine and to Divine love.  This is true of these who are here in physical form and in those who have passed through this life to the next dimension.  This truth invites to us remember that we are NEVER alone.  This Divine encounter with Papa Bill reminded me of this truth and helped me to feel safe and secure in the knowledge that there are those who are here to help and support us on the physical plane and on the spiritual plane, there are those who still have our back!

Amazing Grace

Yesterday while working with my Spiritual Director, I found myself reflecting on a number of significant miraculous things that have recently unfolded in my life.  I called these moments grace.  Grace is another one of those weird words, like divine that really defies definition of description, it can only be experienced.  However, I have some wonderings about grace that I will share with you today.

In my own experience, I have witnessed events that I can attribute to nothing but grace due to the mysterious way in which they have shown up in my life: Sudden moments of profound clarity, seemingly unreconcilable situations miraculously resolved, mysterious release from long-held resentments, attachments and negative perceptions.  What really stands out in these grace-filled moments is the way in which they revealed themselves independent of any significant effort on my part.  Or…..did they?

When I look back on these moments of grace, I have to wonder if there was some unconscious intention for freedom and openness and subtle actions which created the ground in which grace could take root.  At the same time, it seems that grace comes unbidden.  It does not come because we have finally worked hard enough or done the right things to appease the angry gods.  But then I wonder, is grace merely an opening in our awareness to something that already is?  These are the questions I ponder in regards to this mystery called grace.

There is one relationship in particular where grace showed up in a mysterious and miraculous way.   At a time when I was sure this relationship was approaching a sudden death, specifically in the moment of calling it quits,  there was a tiny voice that whispered in my ear, “One more chance.”  These words were so loud, so clear and went so deep in my being that it could not be ignored.  Attending to this voice meant setting aside my own pride, my own stubbornness, my own determined desire to be done.  Instead, I had to put on the face of humility and leap into the great unknown, hoping like hell the voice knew what it was saying.  At the same time, I was mad as hell for having to attend to this voice, instead of the voice of my small self that preferred to stand in resentment and self-righteous anger.  While there were really no actions on my part that facilitated the reconciliation of this relationship, as a matter of fact, at the time, it was the last thing on my mind….but was it the underlying desires and intentions that facilitated my openness to that tiny voice that prompted me to be open to one more chance?  In the end, I will never know, but in listening to that voice, I was open to the new possibilities in the relationship, where before I had seen only death.

In the face of these experiences I have to wonder if grace is indeed a moment of Divine intervention, or is it something that is already there, if we only have the eyes to see?   It seemingly comes unbidden, but when it does, it provides the solution to unanswerable questions, a light in the midst of the perceived darkness, release from seemingly untreatable wounds and freedom from our own limited perceptions.  In the end, I know this is another one of those unanswerable questions to which we can only stand in rapt wonder acknowledging the truth of Amazing Grace!
