Behold, this is a time of great promise being fulfilled. The journey is over and done. The great task for which we have been set on this plane is accomplished. Our mission complete. We have doggedly pursued the vision/mission/call of our Souls and in many ways, we have died for the sake of this mission – died to our false selves, died to our ego, died to illusion, fear, hatred, ignorance and most importantly: separation. We have faced criticism, condemnation, ridicule and rejection. We have walked through valleys of burning coal and stood toe to toe with SATAN (the inner adversary) himself. In spite of our fears, in spite of the loves we had to leave behind, in spite of the excruciating emotional, mental and physical pain we have endured…..we are still here, breathing and alive as we now stand victorious for all that we have endured, with nothing but faith and some sort of blind hope that all would not be in vain.
With every fiber of my being, I feel the truth of this message. I see the seeds I/we have planted, having already taken root, now beginning to bear fruit. I feel the expanse of love that has taken over our world in spite of the fear and hatred that tries to dampen its cause. I see the faces of people CHANGING. No longer set fast by fear or arms crossed in separation, but looking on in wonder, asking the question, “Could there really be something more than this? Could life be softer, gentler, kinder, more loving? Could people turn to one another in wonder and awe, seeking to understand and honor our differences while honoring our common desire to be safe, and to feel loved?” I see it. I feel it. I know it. And it is because of our effort, because of our willingness to hold fast to the call of love, that this transformation has taking place and will continue to unfold. As I read this morning’s gospel, these words from Zechariah, I knew that what I was sending was true….and I knew it by the ocean of tears I shed in receiving these words – tears not of grief, but of celebration and relief. My Christmas gift to you is that you receive these words for yourself (translating them to fit your own personal beliefs please!) Merry Christmas and thank you for being part of the greatest Christmas present EVER!
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; for he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty Savior, born of the house of his servant David. Through his prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hand of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, to give his people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1: 67-79
