Christouch is coming

Just a brief announcement to my readers that my book, Christouch, will be available soon through Amazon.

Christouch – A Christ-centered approach to energy medicine through hands-on-healing – book description:

On March 25, 2009, The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Doctrine issued their Guidelines for Evaluating Reiki as an Alternative Therapy.  The final statement of this document summarizes the Bishop’s conclusions regarding Reiki: “Since Reiki therapy is not compatible with either Christian teaching or scientific evidence, it would be inappropriate for Catholic Institutions or people representing the Church to promote or provide support for Reiki therapy.”  This prohibitive posture of the American Catholic Bishops is not unique among religious authorities and has brought to the forefront the question about how Reiki and other hands-on-healing modalities may or may not fit within the context of Christian teaching.  Christouch answers that question.  Through scripture, exercises for personal reflection and practical instruction, Christouch provides valuable support for hands-on healers who desire to perform their practice within the context of the Christian tradition. Christouch also provides the tools through which the reader may begin their own ministry of Christ-centered healing using the Christouch™ protocol developed by the author, Lauri Ann Lumby.

Christouch will be available soon through

  1. I love your blogs and your integrative work. The turn off for me with this is that it is christ centered. why not god centered??? so many people can’t relate to the messianic character of christ, but look to the divine that lives within all things. just a thought. not surprising that a group like the NCCB doesn’t approve of reiki. why are we even looking for their approval to begin with….

    1. Dear Susan,
Thank you for your kind feedback and for asking the difficult questions!!!!! While at one time in my journey, I may have been looking for approval from the USCCB or any other Church authority, I have long moved past that. As such, Christouch is not about seeking approval from the USCCB or from any other religious institution. Christouch as a specific healing protocol came through me almost immediately following my Reiki Master Teacher training and attunement. I’ve never been entirely sure why….but felt I needed to honor the truth of this perspective on energy medicine. Because of my own devotion to Jesus, it feels appropriate that if I teach energy medicine, it be inspired, modeled and empowered by the man I call teacher and guru. Of course….this will not be for everyone, but for some, it is important as is evidenced by the 10 hits a week to my website from And I could not agree with you more…..there is a profound invitation to move beyond the “Jesus died for our sins” theology and embrace him as a teacher, a healer, fully divine AND fully human, while recognizing the purest message of his teaching which is exactly what you mention – an invitation to look to the Divine that lives within all things… personal belief is that Jesus, along with other teachers like him, came to remind us of this truth…the truth of our Oneness with God and that the Divine lives fully within, among and all around us and cannot be contained by our human labels, rituals, tribal customs, dogma, etc. In the end, the Christouch book provides the resources to help seeking Christians bridge the perceived gap between Western and Eastern spiritual practices and will hopefully open doors to continue to work toward eliminating this perceived separation.

Thanks again for your comments and questions…keep em coming!
      – Lauri

  2. Thank you for writing this book! I look forward to it because as a Christian…well, you know what I’ve encountered. The thing is I want it for me. Once my heart is straight about all of this, then the responses never matter and often change. So, I’m looking forward to the release!
